Monika Ledzion

Monika Ledzion - Mezzo-sopran - Monika Ledzion started her musical education in the violin class in Rzeszów. In June 2000 she graduated with distinctions from the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in Halina Słonicka's class. She perfected her performing skills on numerous courses including master classes organised by prof. Rusko-Ruskov (Sofia 1997, 1998) and Stefania Toczyska (Duszniki Zdrój 1999). In 2000, as a student, she gave her first stage performance at the Music Theatre 'Roma' in Warsaw in 'Orphee aux enfers' by J. Offenbach (Public Opinion role). Since 2003 Monika Ledzion is the soloist of the Warsaw Chamber Opera where she performs among others in Mozart's 'Magic Flute' (3rd Genius), Tchaikovsky's 'Eugene Onegin' (Olga). Janacek's 'Jenufa' (Karolka) and Mozart's 'Cosi fan tutte'. She regularly shows up during the Mozart Festival. Since 2002 she co-operates with the Kraków Opera and she took part in a famous open-air performance of Moniuszko's 'The Haunted Manor' (Jadwiga). In 2004 she started her career at the National Opera House in Warsaw by taking part in Tchaikovsky's 'The Queen of Spades'. She often takes part in oratorio concerts performing C. Saint-Saëns' 'Oratorio de Noël', Mozart's 'Coronation' Mass, Pergolesi's 'Stabat Mater', Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
